Built in the year 1996, this Ropeway in the Central Part of India was constructed on a hillock to transport pilgrimage traffic from the foot hill to the Temple atop. It is a Jigback System with two nos. 8 passengers capacity Cabins. The passenger load could be augmented during peak seasonal demand by adding two more Cabins. |

In this system, a single endless rope serves the dual purpose of carrying as well as hauling the passenger Cabins. Two Cabins, one at the Lower Station and the other at Upper Station, but on opposite side, are firmly attached to the rope by means of Cabin carriage. Upon starting the Ropeway, the Cabin located at the Lower Terminal start ascending while the one at the Upper Terminal descends. When they reach the boarding areas at the respective terminals, the Drive is automatically stopped. After the passengers deboarded and fresh passengers boarded, the Drive is started again in reverse direction. |
